Balochi Sofreh

This vintage Balochi Sofreh from Khorasan features a deep, earthy plum-red field accented by a central ivory square. The edges are finished with vibrant orange and navy overcasting, adding a bold contrast to the otherwise minimalist design. Subtle decorative stitching in the same orange and navy runs parallel to each end, framing the piece with a touch of geometric rhythm.

Handwoven in a flatweave technique, the sofreh retains its natural texture and warmth, with visible wool fibers giving it a tactile, organic feel. The fringed ends show traditional finishing, incorporating undyed wool tones. Its size and flat construction make it highly versatile—ideal for use as a floor covering, wall hanging, or decorative layering piece.
